The debut novel
What if the one thing worth striving for in life was free for the asking?
Vince is a young Sydney surfer whose fiercest opponent isn't the ocean – it's his own fear. Ellie, an oncology doctor, becomes the patient, and finds she can still embrace the life in front of her. Manny lives beneath a railway viaduct overlooking the harbour, piecing together a shattered identity through conversations with a retiring judge. And as a promising tech startup rises and falls, Selwyn and Simone learn the limits of planning for a life that refuses to follow a script.
Four different worlds. The same questions underneath: How do we face fear without letting it rule us? How do we live fully, whatever our circumstances? By what measure do we judge a life's worth – especially our own? And how do we make peace with what we cannot control?
The Father's Lectures is an experimental literary novel about how ordinary people confront fear, suffering, love, loss, purpose, and mortality. Weaving together prose fiction, poetry, song lyrics, philosophical reflection, theatre, and personal letters, it explores the challenges that define a life – and the choices that define a character.
At its heart, this is a love song to life: recognising what gives it meaning, and choosing, again and again, how we will live it.
The novel will be available before Christmas 2026 through selected booksellers.
